   Very similar to Final Frontier’s score, especially at the beginning. Surely they could have made a new piece for this movie?

    I saw Gerry Goldsmith conduct the LSO at a film music concert at the Barbican back in the late 90’s.
    To hear this live with full orchestra with the great man conducting this and his other work was just unforgettable. It’s sad that he is not with us any more but his son carries on the music tradition. Have you heard Joel Goldsmith’s score for the Ark Of Truth Stargate movie spin-off? Incredible score for a tv/DVD movie.

    Goldsmith was actually Roddenberry’s first choice to score “The Cage”. Had Goldsmith been able to do so, he would have created the show’s main theme.
